“Doesn’t matter whose fault it is if you’re dead”

Reading Time: 2 minutes

—————- The next find out more meeting for our November programme is on Tuesday 29th October which is in 9 days. Check www.theacademygtc.co.uk/briefing-meeting to find out more, see what the meeting involves and, potentially, take that next step to transforming your life and body 🙂 ———————-

22 1/2 years ago I was learning to drive.

Well, learning officially – my Dad had taught me to drive his pick up in the fields and farm track as soon as my legs were long enough.

I’d done something when out driving with my mum.

Can’t remember what exactly.

But, I’d clearly put myself at risk.

And she was telling my grandparents about it.

“If there’d have been a crash, it wouldn’t have been my fault” I defended myself with.

“Doesn’t matter whose fault it is” my Grandpa resounded “if you’re dead”

It’s a great point, which has stuck with me ever since.

When driving, it’s up to me to protect myself and my passengers.

To remove, or at least reduce as much as possible, the chance of the bad driving of others causing me a problem.

And it’s the same with many things in life.

The actions of others can make things difficult.

But, at the same time, we can do what we can to protect ourselves.

Friends, family members and colleagues will try and flabotage us.

Wave cake and biscuits under our noses.

Bring take out when we asked them not to.

Accuse us of being “boring” or “no fun anymore”.

To some degree, it can be their ‘fault’.

But………..

“It doesn’t matter whose fault it is if you’re fat / unhappy with your body or health”.

Only we can protect ourselves (clicking this link is a good start to that –> www.theacademygtc.co.uk/briefing-meeting).

Only we can make the final decisions that dictate what happens to us.

Others can make it hard.

But only if we let them.

Much love,

Jon ‘Line’ Hall and Matt ‘San Andreas’ Nicholson
