“Maybe just tell me what you would like sir?”

Imagine you’re in a restaurant.

It’s your party’s turn to order.

Your mate is taking an eternity with the waiter.

“I don’t like beef”

“I’m allergic to shellfish”

“I’m not in the mood for anything too heavy”

“I don’t want the fajitas”

“I don’t want the lasagne”

“I don’t wan’t the mixed grill”

After a while, the waiter, understandably says “Maybe just tell me what you would like sir?”

An exaggerated situation, of course.

As these often are.

But designed to help us question when we do similar.

When we start listing the things we don’t want rather than that we do.

When we talk about what we can’t do, rather than what we can do.

Can’t make a session at The Academy?

It doesn’t need to be a jump to nothing.

Do the next best thing.

Home workout, run, bodyweight exercises, a stretch, etc.

Can’t eat ‘perfectly’ one day / weekend / week?

Doesn’t mean we need to jump to mainlining shite.

Look at what you can do (you could click this link to take the next step with us if you haven’t already –>www.theacademygtc.co.uk/briefing-meeting).

The best choices available, under the circumstances.

Concentrate on what you can / are happy to do.

Rather than what you can’t / don’t want to.

Much love,

Jon ‘I want beef, shellfish, fajitas, lasagne and the mixed grill’ Hall and Matt ‘Me too’ Nicholson
