It’s a George Ezra lyric innit?

From ‘Pretty Shiny People’.

“Why why, what a terrible time to be alive ……. If you’re prone to overthinking”

Never, at any point in history, have we had more choice.

More free information readily available.

Out our finger tips 24 hours a day.

And the problem with all those options…………

Is that it’s easier, sometimes, to just do nothing.

When faced with too many choices of ways to exercise, foods to eat and distractions of our attention……………

We often often fall into the habit of doing the ones we feel most comfortable with.

We’ve said many, many times, that action is key.

An amount of thinking is necessary, of course.

Action without thought could vary somewhere along the line of counter-productive through ineffective to worthwhile onto amazing.

But thought without action will always do absolutely nothing.

We need enough thought to make sure our actions are good enough.

Then just do!

“Should I do some exercise three or more times this week?”

That’s it.

No more thought needed about whether or not to do it.

Maybe just about what can be done under the circumstances of the week.

When faced with all those extras that often make the difference between a deficit and a surplus…………

You know, the cake, biscuits and the like at work……….. the Ben and Jerry’s at home………..

Then just go with your first, gut feeling (like, maybe, finally getting round to clicking this link and booking into the meeting to find our more about what we do –>www.theacademygtc.co.uk/briefing-meeting).

It’ll probably be the ‘right’ choice.

Additional thought will probably talk you round to the choice that will take you in the direction you don’t want to go in.

If we’re asking the right questions………….

The answers are often obvious.

Give them enough thought to make a good enough decision.

Then take action!

Much love,
